Is the Starter plan really free forever?
Yes. The Starter plan is completely free with no time limit and no credit card required. Track up to 2 properties, log transactions, manage tenants and leases, store documents, run basic property reports, and use 50 AI queries per month — all at no cost.
Can I switch between monthly and annual billing?
Yes. Switch from monthly to annual at any time and save 20%. The new rate takes effect on the next billing cycle. Switching back takes effect when the current annual period ends.
What happens if I exceed the property limit?
Your existing properties and data remain fully accessible. You simply cannot add new properties until you upgrade or remove an existing property. We never delete or restrict access to your data.
Can I buy extra AI queries without upgrading my plan?
Yes! AI credit packs are available on all plans, including Starter. Choose from 50 credits ($5), 250 credits ($20), or 750 credits ($50). Credits never expire and stack on top of your monthly plan allowance.
What AI features are included?
Every plan includes Knox, our AI assistant that can answer questions about your portfolio, create transactions, and look up property data. Growth and above unlock the AI Document Analyzer, which reads PDFs (leases, insurance policies, PM statements) and auto-populates your records.
Do I need Scale for Schedule E reports?
No. Schedule E exports, mortgage splitting, depreciation tracking, and full financial reports are all available on Growth. Scale adds multi-entity management (LLCs), Section 8 suite, BRRR tracker, PM reconciliation, and insurance tracking.
What is the Section 8 suite?
The full Section 8 suite is available on Scale and Enterprise. It includes voucher tracking, HAP/tenant portion breakdowns, payment standard calculations, and annual inspection reminders. HUD FMR/SAFMR rent data by ZIP code is available starting on Growth.
Can I cancel at any time?
Absolutely. No contracts, no cancellation fees. Cancel from your account settings anytime. You keep full access through the end of your billing period, then revert to the free Starter plan. Your data is always yours.
Who is Knox?
Knox is DoorVault's AI assistant. Knox processes your emails, reads documents (72+ types), answers portfolio questions, and suggests database updates. Every action Knox takes is logged with a full audit trail — you can see exactly what changed and revert any action with one click.
Can I export my data?
Yes. Growth and above can export Schedule E data, transaction reports, and financial summaries as CSV. Enterprise plan users also get API access and webhooks for programmatic data access. Your data is always yours.
Does DoorVault have an API?
API access is available on the Enterprise plan. You get full REST API endpoints, webhooks for real-time event notifications, and CSV data exports. Contact us for API documentation and integration support.
